Approximate Timing & December Gardening Activities
Early December:
- Christmas trees, wreaths, garlands and more available now!
- Warm days and wet nights are great for winter Ryegrass seed. How's your winter lawn growing? Learn how to grow a beautiful Ryegrass winter lawn or limited turf area.
- It can be wet in Arizona this time of year. Check your timers so as to not over water.

Mid-December:

December Planting Calendar
Plant the following edibles from 12/1 - 12/14:
- Seeds: Globe artichokes, beets, bok choy, broccoli, cabbage, Chinese cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, celery, chard, collard greens, endive, kale, head and leaf lettuces, mustard, green onions, peas, radishes, rutabagas, spinach, and turnips
- Transplants: Asparagus, broccoli, cabbage, Chinese cabbage, cauliflower, celery, chard, kohlrabi, and head and leaf lettuces
- Sets: Bulb onions
Plant the following edibles from 12/15 - 12/31:
- Seeds: Beets, bok choy, broccoli, cabbage, Chinese cabbage, carrots, cauliflower, celery, chard, collard greens, endive, kale, head and leaf lettuces, mustard, green onions, peas, radishes, rutabagas, spinach, and turnips
- Transplants: Asparagus, broccoli, cabbage, Chinese cabbage, cauliflower, celery, chard, kohlrabi, and head and leaf lettuces
- Sets: Bulb onions
